What Causes Half of the Screen to Black Out?

Post by Genaro » Fri Oct 02, 2009 4:24 am

While watching TV the right side of the screen turns black (exactly half of the screen).

It sometimes happens after having the TV on for only a few minutes and sometimes it works for hours before the problem starts.

A full screen reappears after powering the TV off and then turning it back on but only for a while. The right side blacks out again about 5 to 10 minutes after restarting.

Is it the lamp, color wheel, balast, or something else that needs to be replaced?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

it sounds like a DMD board issue, just to be on the safe side try to display the menu when the half of the screen goes black, if it's half black then the DMD is the problem.

Hope this helps
